Janey Godley spoofs Nicola Sturgeon's Christmas message as she says 'she might move to the moon'

Nicola Sturgeon’s Christmas message has been given the Janey Godley treatment.

The First Minister issued a festive message to the nation marking a year like no other and a Christmas Day which looks very different for many.

And comedian Janey Godley gave the message her trade-mark voiceover.

She opened by announcing: “I’ve got ma wee chicken breast in the oven with a wee sausage. Peter, of course, he wants a steak pie supper cause he likes to be difficult at Christmas”.

Marking the chaos and hardships of 2020, Godley joked: “What a year it’s been. Between the Covid and then everybody having problems with the rules.

“Remember when Cummings went to Durham to see if his eyes were alright and the I got caught with no mask on trying to stuff a sausage roll in my mouth at a purvey.”

She continued: “Honest to God I could easily take 2020, put it in a box, and shoot it right over the Burn Hill. I’m up to high doh with the lot of it.

“Hopefully 2021 will be better. Cause see if it’s no, I’m going to go and live on the moon and take you all wi me.”

Nicola Sturgeon gave the video her seal of approval on Twitter writing: “My ‘alternative’ Christmas message. Thanks to @JaneyGodley for making us laugh this year”
