Janey Godley shares health update following surgery as fans offer support

Janey Godley has offered an update on her health following her hysterectomy operation last week to treat her ovarian cancer.

The Scottish comedian shared on Twitter that she is "slowly mending" following the procedure on January 6.

She tweeted: "Catheter, canula, nasal/Throat tube and oxygen supply FREE - I have no more tubes coming out of my body!"

She continued: "Hurrah thanks Scottish NHS - slowly mending, saw my wound in the mirror today and well, yes it does look like a half cooked ham Hough but it’s getting better".

Since being posted at 8.56am on Tuesday morning, the tweet has gained over 2,000 likes and dozens of comments from fans offering their support.

One wrote: "Thanks for updating us Janey. You're in the thoughts of your legion of fans."

A second posted: "Isn’t that a wonderful feeling? I remember it well! The scar will never look pretty but it will improve - a lot! I see it as a reminder of the op that saved my life. Good luck for the next stage."

A third shared: "Brilliant progress Janey. Don't push too hard. Follow the advice of the staff for what to try and when to rest."

"Good to see you on the mend and smiling," a fourth tweeted.

Another said: "Get well soon Janey, mind yourself now. Thinking of you."

The comedian was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last November and has regularly updated fans on the progress of her journey on Twitter.

She previously tweeted on Monday night: "Thank you Scottish NHS, I am getting better slowly and surely - lights out time".

On Monday, she also wrote that she was "on the mend" following the operation.
