Janey Godley shares good news about her recovery from cancer

Janey Godley has announced that her scans are clear of cancer

JANEY Godley has announced that her latest scan has shown “no evidence of disease” as she thanked the NHS for saving her life in an emotional video shared to twitter.

The Scottish comedian was diagnosed with ovarian cancer back in November after showing symptoms of bloating, loss of appetite, back pain and frequently needing to urinate.

She has undergone a range of treatments including chemotherapy and a hysterectomy at the start of the year.

Godley announced that she had her last round of chemotherapy in May and has now followed up with more good news.

Speaking in a clip on Twitter, Godley said: “I’ve just had the phone call from the cancer specialist and the scan has come back clear. There is no evidence of disease.

“So after a hysterectomy and six rounds of chemo and the blood transfusion, it seems like the NHS has definitely saved my life.”

Godley went on to thank the Beatson Cancer Centre and the NHS employees who looked after her.

The comedian said that she was now on medication that would help prevent the cancer from returning but added that “as it stands, the scan is clear”.

She added that it had been an “emotional day” and that her “cup was full with gratefulness”.
