Controversial Scots comedian Janey Godley announced the sad news earlier today that she is in hospital after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
The comic has been inundated with messages full of love and support, but revealed she has still had to deal with cruel trolls on social media.
Godley too to Twitter to respond to the trolls writing: "Just a wee heads up if you are tweeting me the words 'throwing the cancer card' - I won’t be angry at you, I won’t hate you and I won’t be upset.
"I think you need to love yourself a wee bit more. #MentalHealthMatters. "

Fans rushed to support Janey after her heartbreaking message.
One wrote: "Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that Janey. It astonishes me that people can be so cruel. Best wishes for your treatment & recovery."
Another said: "Ignore them, Janey. There's a lot wrong with these folk, they're not happy people. Just focus on you and getting well."
A third well-wisher said: "Oh, Janey. I'm sorry your having to put up with people like that. Cancer is a nasty disease and anyone can gave the misfortune of being diagnosed with it.
"Perhaps those who say this will reflect on their words. Get well soon."
Janey announced her diagnosis on Twitter this morning.
In a tweet that shocked fans she wrote: "Sorry, but my last weekend of the tour can't go ahead in Edinburgh and Musselburgh as I am in hospital with ovarian cancer - look after each other. #MentalHealthMatters."
Godley is a supporter of Scottish independence and found fast fame with her dubbed pastiches of Scotland First Minister Nicola Sturgeon's coronavirus news briefings during the pandemic.
We wish Janey a speedy recovery.
