Janey Godley injures arm after suffering nasty fall in Edinburgh

Janey Godley shared pictures of a bumper bruise after suffering a nasty fall in Edinburgh.

The Scots comic injured her arm while recording the audiobook version of her autobiography 'Handstands in the Dark' yesterday.

She revealed no sooner had she arrived in the capital when she tripped over and landed on the metal foot rest of a chair.

She posted the pictures on her Twitter page and said the incident didn't get in the way of her day.

She said: "Inbetween working in the recording studio I Managed to trip and fall yesterday and land with my arm on the metal foot rest of a chair - coz I am an idiot - then went back to recording my audio book."

And many of her fans replied, saying that it looked like a sore one.

One wrote: "Arnica gel is good for bruising, hope you’re ok today x."

Another added: "Ooh you poor thing- that looks painful - rub arnica cream in and take arnica tablets - it does help with bruising."

While one wrote: "That’s what happens when we’ve all been “locked down” for a year. When we finally get out and about we’ve forgotten how to go about our business in the world. Get some Arnica on that bruise."

And another added: "Oh ouch that looks like a right sore one. Hope it’s not to painful."

Janey's bestselling autobiography Handstands In The Dark which is all about her tough childhood growing up in the East End of Glasgow.

Last week, the 60-year-old admitted that she had to move carriage on a train from Glasgow to Newcastle after she spoke to a woman who was reading her book.

Janey said the woman was 'furious' after she tried to speak to her about her reading material.

She said: "Sat on a train to the Stand Newcastle, and a woman was reading my autobiography.

"I jokingly said 'Oh I’ve read that, she dies at the end' thinking she’d know it was me (WHY WOULD SHE?) and laugh.

"She looked at me and said 'well F*** you' and glared at me. I moved into the next carriage"

Janey added: "I wanted to go back and explain but she was furious at me and I just hid until my stop."

"I am dead to her now. I think I really upset her - I just felt if I went back I would annoy her more and sound like a d**k saying 'actually wrote the book, am not dead”"

Janey also wrote Frank, Get The Door! Ma Feet Are Killing Me featuring her voiceovers from The First Minister's Covid 19 briefings.
