Janey Godley having 'time of what’s left of life' on tour despite gruelling cancer treatment

Glasgow comedian Janey Godley is making the most of her time on tour despite having to schedule in chemotherapy appointments between shows.

The comic is ticking off the shows across Scotland in her 'NOT DEAD YET' tour, performing twice in Greenock this week.

The 62-year-old is currently being treated for ovarian cancer, bravely undergoing gruelling chemo treatment just hours before getting on stage in some cases. The Glasgow born funny woman has vowed to remain positive as she is determined to make the most of "what’s left of my life on this tour".

Taking to Instagram she wrote: "I might have incurable ovarian cancer but I am having the time of what’s left of my life on this tour.

"Back to chemo on Wednesday then straight to Dundee for the show - tonight is Stirling - thanks @ashleystorrie for being on this tour with me - she’s funny as f***."

Janey recently spoke out about her journey telling fellow Glaswegian Lorraine Kelly she is determined to keep fighting, adding that she is not a "human advent calendar" with many asking her "how long she has left".

She said: "People keep saying 'how long I've got left', I'm no a human advent calendar and I don't have an answer for them, I don't know how long I've got but like a mayfly I'm going to enjoy it while I can but I'm going to go on tour and if I'm gonny go oot I'll go oot with a bang."

The comic has received rave reviews and standing ovations since getting back on stage, with fans taking social media to share their thoughts.

And after two successful shows at the Beacon Arts venue in Greenock, some fans were calling for an extra Glasgow date.

Janey Godley will perform on March 5 at the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow.
