Janey Godley gives update from latest hospital appointment ahead of hysterectomy

Janey Godley has taken to Twitter to update her fans following another hospital appointment.

Last month, the comedian announced she had ovarian cancer and will go under the knife in January to have her tumour removed.

And today after another appointment about her tumour, which she has decided to nickname 'Bunty', the 60-year-old gave an update online along with a selfie of herself.

She wrote: "Second hospital appointment today - gearing up for my BIG DEBUT THEATRE appearance to remove 'Bunty Mc****y the Tumour with the Humour' it’s a one night performance on Jan 6 - hoping it gets rave reviews (Double masked, triple vaxxed)."

And many of her supporters were quick to send her well wishes.

One wrote: "Oh Janey you do make me chuckle naming your tumour. Humour does help at times like these and your no stranger to humour! You are giving others so much inspiration, stay strong, keep positive."

Another added: "Give yourself time to heal and recover and be prepared to make adjustments for a potential new “normal,” post op. The NHS is a wondrous thing. You’re in very good hands."

While one said: "Sounds like you are in brilliant hands. Can’t wait for you to tell us all Bunty has done one!"

And another penned: "Good luck @JaneyGodley you've got this will take more than a tumour to take you oot."

Janey will undergo a hysterectomy on January 6 to remove the tumour.

The major surgery should have taken place by now but Janey's operation was put back seven weeks because she contracted Covid-19 shortly after her diagnosis.

Godley, who gained fans during lockdown for her humourous voice-overs of Nicola Sturgeon's Government briefings, said she is swaying between being terrified and screaming in anger' in anticipation of what lies ahead.

The Glasgow-born comic previously asked fans to spread 'light and love' and keep her social media feeds positive.

Her request came after she was subjected to cruel trolling online shortly after revealing her diagnosis.

On Twitter she said: "RIGHT that’s the negative nellies dealt with- let’s keep this place full of light and love."

The star shared multiple pictures and videos from her hospital bed as she received treatment but admitted she has done nothing but 'cry and cry and cry' since finding out the news.

Sharing a video from her hospital bed back in November she said: "I want to thank everyone for all their support and all their help and for coming out and sharing so much laughter with me.

"Onto the next step of the journey, and what is that journey?

"I don't know if I'm going to be one of these people who battle bravely and fight every step.

"I don't know, that doesn't feel how I've been the last day where I've done nothing but cry and cry and cry.

"But I'm going to use science, and technology and I'm going to try and cope with this next step of my journey."
