Janey Godley 'barred from America' after foul-mouthed Donald Trump sign

Janey Godley claims she has been ‘barred from travelling to America’ following her controversial banner aimed at Donald Trump.

The Scots funnywoman was one of many people who gathered to protest the former US President’s Turnberry golf course in 2018.

In typical fashion, Janey arrived to the protest wielding a placard containing her famed flowery language.

But the sign got the 60-year-old Glaswegian into bother across the Atlantic.

Writing in The Times, Janey claimed that she’s been banned from visiting America ever since the incident.

She penned: “My first trip abroad was Florida in 1989, with my daughter Ashley and the husband whose name I never mention. We stayed outside Orlando and went to Disney World which was utterly magical.

“I’d love to go back now Joe Biden’s in charge. I’ve been barred from travelling to America since I welcomed Trump to Turnberry with that “Trump is a c*** placard.

“You couldn’t pay me to stay in that hotel - I wouldn’t put a penny in the a******e’s pocket.”

Pictures of the banner have since been widely circulated across the globe online.

In a blog post at the time, she said: “I caught a bus to Turnberry Golf course just to welcome Mr Trump who flew in from the US.

“I got out of the bus and stood proudly with my sign ‘TRUMP IS A C**T’.

Janey has been leaving Scots in stitches with a series of voiceovers during the coronavirus pandemic.

One regular subject is Nicola Sturgeon, with the comedian providing her own unique takes on the First Minister’s Covid press briefings.
