Janette Manrara shares exciting Strictly Come Dancing news

By Jessica Sansome

Janette Manrara has shared some exciting Strictly Come Dancing news with her fans.

The professional dancer was missing from the last series after she decided to step back from competing in the BBC dance contest.

But she didn't leave Strictly altogether as she instead became a host on its BBC Two spin-off show, It Takes Two, sharing presenting duties with Rylan Clark.

And before the series was out, she did return to the ballroom for a spectacular routine with husband and fellow Strictly star Aljaž Škorjanec as Ed Sheeran performed on the hit programme.

Now though, Janette is preparing to go across the country with the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour.

The professional dancer, 38, will preside over 33 shows across the country in January and February next year and the tour will also see her reunited with tour judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, and Bruno Tonioli.

The arena tour, which comes to Manchester's AO Arena for two shows at the end of this month, will feature performances from some celebrities and professional dancers from the 2021 series.

And Janette has giving an exciting update.

Janette spent the 2021 series hosting It Takes Two (BBC)

Taking to Instagram with a snap of herself dressed to impress in a black blazer suit, the 38-year-old said: "@strictlycomedancinglive tour rehearsals start today!!!!

"Pros getting their routines in, celebs remembering their fav dances, singers rehearsing songs, band rehearsing music, judges getting their paddles ready, and I’ll be getting myself ready to make sure you all ENJOY every moment of this long awaited show!!!!"

She then added: "Who’s coming?!?"

And Janette was quickly getting responses.

@z.chan16 said: "Definitely coming!!! Can’t wait to see you all in action."

"Cannot WAIT !!! see u 30th jan in manchester," @janettemxnrara commented.

@susie_godwin added: "So excited for the tour see you in Manchester."

Max George, who is joining the tour after competing in the 2020 series, even joked: "Me…. Somehow!"

The Wanted singer isn't the only 2020 alumni joining the 30-plus date arena tour.

Maisie Smith, who appeared on Strictly alongside Gorka Marquez, has been drafted in after AJ Odudu had to pull out.

The TV presenter was due to perform across the country with professional partner Kai Widdrington but she is still recovering from a foot injury which forced her out of the final last month.
