Janette Manrara fears career with Aljaž Škorjanec would be over if they had a baby

Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara opened up on Loose Women about her relationship with husband Aljaž Škorjanec, 31, and their future baby plans.

Janette, 37, said: "I have always been looking forward to becoming a mother, I think what me and Aljaž discovered in the first lockdown and being separated, was how much we are a team.

"And when we do decide to have children in the future, we are more than ready because we really do love and support each other.

"I think Aljaž is going to be the most incredible dad, that's a realisation that we had, that when the time is right, we will both be more than ready."

But Janette explained their dancing careers were a concern as she said: "For me and Aljaž, we are a team when it comes to everything in life. Not just our personal lives, but also for work.

"If I all of a sudden fall pregnant, I would want to spend time with my baby, I want to spend time with my child as a mother.

"So that is the scary point, we lose 50% of the household income, because we do all of it together, so that's the only bit that makes it a bit tricky.

"Physically I think I should hopefully pop right back into dancing and come back in hopefully fast, but those nine months to a year, we just wouldn't know what was going to happen."

The couple were forced apart for 77 days while filming separate projects in lockdown, which was the longest time they had ever been without seeing each other.

Janette said: "Aljaž and I have been together for almost ten years now, and it was the first time we were apart for that long, because even when he has been on tour, we still see each other once a week or every couple of weeks.

"So it was the longest time we have ever gone without seeing each other.

"But the hardest bit was seeing each other in the studios on Fridays and Saturdays, because during the week we are busy, we are rehearsing, we are choreographing we are teaching, but on the Friday and Saturday when we saw each other, that was always really tough."
