Janet Street-Porter insists she looks 'like a toilet brush' in epic 70s throwback

Loose Women fans were left in stitches today as the panel took a trip down memory lane with Janet Street-Porter's "Life Before Loose".

The popular segment sees the panel look back at their careers before joining the Loose Women cast.

Ruth Langsford, Denise Welch and Jane Moore had dug up a number of snaps and clips from her childhood, to 60s modelling, to interviewing David Bowie pre-concert in the 1970s.

And one from the 70s saw Janet presenting the London Weekend Show, the veteran journalist laughing as she insisted she looked "like a toilet brush".

"She's very nervous, because it's time to turn the tables!" Ruth announced.

"Time for the interviewer to become the interviewee."

And despite the good nature of the segment, Janet admitted that she's was feeling so nervous about it she didn't sleep last night.

"I'm not in charge, so I'm very anxious," she admitted.

Janet's throwbacks included highlights from her long journalistic career, including chatting with David Bowie and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

And when a 32-year-old Janet appeared in a 1978 episode of the London Weekend Show, she had her head in her hands.

A flame-haired Janet told viewers what was to come as the Loose Women panel laughed.
