Janet Jackson pens rare tribute to son Eissa Al Mana on his fifth birthday

Janet Jackson likes to keep the son she shares with billionaire ex-husband Wissam Al Mana out of the spotlight.

But in a rare display, the songstress, 55, took to social media on Monday to pen a sweet message dedicated to her child, Eissa Al Mana, on his fifth birthday.

Poetic Justice actress Janet decided against sharing a snap of her offspring but instead posted an image of the kind words she came up with and illustrated the text with heart, kiss and balloon emojis.

Atop of a grey background, the sister of the late Michael Jackson typed: " You're growing up so fast."

Praising her son's character, she went on: "Such an intelligent beautiful boy. Wish you a life full of magical moments."

She added: "You're Mama's Luv. Happy 5th Birthday baby!"

Swarms of Janet's A-lister pals took to the comments under the Instagram offering to share happy wishes to Eissa.

"We love you Eissa! Happy Birthday," pop sensation Ciara wrote.

Rapper Busta Rhymes added a string of heart, cake and celebration cone emojis.

TV personality Asa Soltan Rahmati, who is married to Janet's brother Jermaine Jackson, penned: "Happy 5th Birthday Eissa. We love you sooooo much."

Lil Kim joined in by adding three hearts in the comments section.

Janet gave birth in January 2017 and the That's The Way Love Goes hitmaker's representative confirmed the news with a statement to PEOPLE.

They told the outlet: "Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world. Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably."

Months after welcoming Eissa, Janet and Wissam ended their marriage.

Fans of the Control musician are eagerly awaiting her new documentary, named Janet, which is due to come out on January 28.

In the trailer for the film, Janet speaks about her late brother Michael, who died in 2009, being accused of sexually abusing children in the early nineties.

Janet has always stood by her brother, but admits in her new documentary that their relationship put 'pressure' on her.

"There is a great deal of scrutiny that comes from having that last name," she says in the trailer.

When asked whether the allegations surrounding her brother had affected her careerwise, she says: "Guilty by association. I guess that's what they call it, right?"

*Janet is set to premiere on 28 January via Lifetime and A&E.
