Janet Jackson’s fans were quick to call the singer out after she shared a ‘Photoshopped’ version of the Glastonbury festival line-up, in which her name appeared top of the bill.
The 52-year-old musician, who was last week confirmed to play the festival, revealed her excitement in a Twitter post last night, telling fans that she “can’t wait to see you #UK” as she shared a poster of the line-up.
Social media users immediately spotted that Jackson appeared to have shared a specially edited version, in which her own name appeared ahead of headline acts The Killers, The Cure and Stormzy.
On the original line-up poster, Jackson is fifth on the bill, behind the three Pyramid Stage headliners and Kylie Minogue, who takes this year’s Sunday afternoon ‘Legend’ slot.
“Can’t believe you went to the trouble of editing the poster,” one fan tweeted.
“Love how you’ve put yourself first… thinking we wouldn’t notice #EditedVersion,” another wrote.
“Howling. Janet Jackson has reposted the Glastonbury lineup and bumped herself up a bit,” a third posted.
Others suggested that Jackson might need to have words with her fellow acts, with one Twitter user joking: “Did you inform @RobertSmith and @thecure that they’re now coming on before you on the Sunday… now that you’ve changed the lineup poster?”
Some fans praised the singer for the move, and suggested that she had merely “corrected” the festival’s “obvious mistake.”
“Janet Jackson photoshopping the Glastonbury poster so that her name is first is the kind of energy we all need to carry us throughout 2019 and beyond, people,” one wrote.
“Janet Jackson should be first on the poster. Yes, all the bands are awesome, but she’s a legend,” another said.
Jackson’s presence on the bill proved a major hit with festival goers when it was announced last week, although some weren’t as impressed with the rest of the line-up, panning it as the “worst ever.”
Tickets for Glastonbury sold out within 32 minutes when they went on sale last year, with re-sale opening up in April.
