Janet Jackson death as heartbroken sister pays tribute to Dublin mum-of-four found dead on street

The sister of a mum-of-four whose body was found on the street in west Dublin has paid a heartbreaking tribute to 'her big sis'.

The body of Dublin 8 mum Janet Jackson, who is in her 30s, was discovered in the early hours of Saturday morning by Gardai on Lynch's Lane in Clondalkin.

Janet's sister confirmed the news on social media paying an honest tribute to her older sibling.

She said: "I can’t take this. Whoever hurt and took my sister away from me will pay for this. My big sister, I love you so much and I just can’t believe this. Rest in Peace, Janet.

A string of tributes poured in for Janet who became the second homeless person to die over the Bank Holiday weekend in less than 24 hours.

Another close friend added: "RIP Janet. I was only talking to you and you were off out of here to get yourself better for you and your babies. It's a cruel world, look over your kids, your family and your friends."

A third said: "So sad Rip Janet. I hope you get the best bed in heaven."

On Friday, the body of a man in his 40s was found near the IFSC with Gardai still investigating "all circumstances" surrounding his death.

This makes the homeless death toll over 50 for this year so far.

Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) CEO Anthony Flynn said he was "completely saddened" by the second death on our streets in the last week.

He said: "A young girl died, alone in a tent on Saturday. And not a whisper about it."

He added: "How many people have actually died in homeless services this year?

"How loud do we have to shout, how many more have to die?"

A garda spokeswoman confirmed the tragic death to Dublin Live.

She said: "A body of a woman in her 30s was located at Lynch’s Lane, Clondalkin in the early hours of 24 October, 2020.

"A post mortem has been carried out and a file is being prepared for the Coroners Court."
