Netflix has acquired international streaming rights for Jane the Virgin, Variety reports. The comedy about a religious woman who finds herself having an accidental pregnancy stars Gina Rodriguez, was originally shown on the CW in the States and E4 in the UK, and is based on the Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen.
The streaming service has also acquired Zoo, a thriller about a safari guide investigating a spate of animal attacks across the world, and Colony, a new sci-fi from the Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse, starring Josh Holloway (AKA Sawyer from Lost), which is due to air on USA Network in January 2016.
Netflix also recently announced a new 12-part season of Black Mirror, the anthology series from Charlie Brooker, and has acquired global streaming rights to the first series of How to Get Away with Murder, the ABC drama from showrunner Shonda Rhimes, starring an Emmy-winning Viola Davis.
