Jane Lynch kicking off 2016 with multiple hosting duties

Dec. 16--Jane Lynch won't have much time to rest over the holidays.

Lynch, a Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Second City alumna who grew up in Dolton, is scheduled to premiere the fourth season of NBC's "Hollywood Game Night" on Jan. 5, host the People's Choice Awards Jan. 6 and debut her new CBS comedy "Angel from Hell" Jan. 7.

The Emmy winner is also collaborating again with Christopher Guest, whom she worked with in "Best in Show" and "For Your Consideration," for his upcoming Netflix movie "Mascots," a mocumentary about a mascot competition. Lynch talked to Entertainment Weekly about her "Mascots" character, former mascot-turned-judge Gabby Monkhouse.

"She had a devastating injury, she held the splits way too long and ripped a muscle in her groin and now she has one leg that's two-and-a-half inches longer than the other one," Lynch said in an article posted online Tuesday. "So she's a judge at the competition -- this all culminates into a competition at the end where the mascots do routines. It's like their Olympics, so it's a real big deal. And Gabby is a little resentful that she's no longer in the spotlight that way, so she has done her best to stay in the spotlight."

"Hollywood Game Night" is scheduled to premiere at 7 p.m. The People's Choice Awards show is slated to air on CBS at 8 p.m. "Angel from Hell" is set to premiere at 8:30 p.m.
