Jane Fonda, 82, proudly declares that she will not have any more plastic surgery

Jane Fonda has decided that she no longer wants to edit her looks with plastic surgery.

The actress, 82, who battled with bulimia from her childhood until her 40s, has admitted that she has struggled to love herself and that she has now got to a place where she does not want to 'cut herself up'.

Despite being a glamorous icon for many, the award-winning star has told that she has found accepting herself hard over the years and now makes sure her fans see this by sharing make-up free and "haggard" snaps online.

Speaking to Elle Canada the activist said: "I can’t pretend that I’m not vain, but there isn’t going to be any more plastic surgery - I’m not going to cut myself up anymore."

Explaining her tough time with body image, she continued: “I have to work every day to be self-accepting; it doesn’t come easy to me.”

Proving that she uses her social media platform to not only promote her activism but to show her honesty, she told: “I try to make it very clear that it has been a long and continuing struggle for me, I post pictures of me looking haggard—and once with my tooth out!"

Jane went on to explain that she has a false tooth as she knocked her original one out in a restaurant in Portugal.

In October last year Jane managed to accept a BAFTA while being arrested during her weekly climate change protest in Washington DC.

The L'Oréal brand ambassador was detained for the third time in two weeks after rocking up on the steps of the Capitol building.

As she was tied up, she announced: “Bafta thank you, thank you for the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film.”

She continued: “Thank you, I'm sorry I'm not there. I'm very honored!”

The clip was played at the BAFTAs and led to resounding cheers from many attendees.

The iconic star was awarded the honour as she was being arrested for the third time in a fortnight while protesting against climate change in the US capital.
