A £5,000 reward has been offered by police hunting a man wanted in connection with the suspected double murder of his former partner for information that leads to his arrest.
Janbaz Tarin is being sought in connection with the deaths of Raneem Oudeh, 22, and Khaola Saleem, 49, in Solihull.
West Midlands Police Detective Chief Superintendent Mark Payne said the force was now offering a cash reward to anyone with information on the 21-year-old’s whereabouts.
“We are working with Crimestoppers to offer a £5,000 reward to anybody who may help us,” he said in the video appeal. “If Mr Tarin is watching this, hand yourself in, we will find you. If there is anybody who is working or assisting Mr Tarin to evade our custody then please be aware you may be committing criminal offences.
“Again, we will find Mr Tarin, we will find you, don't do it, hand Mr Tarin in to us and we will take it from there.”
Ms Oudeh had been at her mother Ms Saleem’s house in the southwest of the town when the pair were stabbed to death in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday morning.
Neighbours said they were woken by screams during the early-hours attack. One woman said she saw a man leaving the scene in a van.
In a statement released through the force Ms Saleem and Ms Oudeh’s family said they were "devastated with the loss of our loved ones."
They added: “We would like to give thanks for all the love and support we have received. “We kindly request that our privacy is respected at this difficult time."
Anyone with information on Mr Tarin’s location has been asked not to approach him, but dial 999 immediately.
