Janadriyah Festival Postponed to First Quarter of 2021

Saudi Arabia’s Janadriyah festival has been postponed to 2021 because of the coronavirus outbreak. The event was originally scheduled for November.

The Ministry of Culture announced that the national heritage and culture festival will be held in the first quarter of 2021 if the health circumstances at the time allow for crowds as large as those that usually attend festivals as popular as Janadriyah.

The Ministry of Culture stressed it postponed the event out of caution for the safety of visitors in line with government measures against the new coronavirus.

The first round of the festival was set to be held in November. It was going to be managed by the Ministry of Culture after a government decision ordered that its organization be transferred to it from the National Guard Ministry.

The Ministry of Culture had prepared a vision to develop the cultural content of the Janadriyah festival by including diverse programs and activities that would reflect Saudi Arabia’s rich national heritage. The vision is in line with a three-year strategy to improve the festival. It is based on holding a series of workshops with experts and cultural figures to develop and enrich the festival in order to transform it into an international cultural platform that would attract visitors from all over the world.
