Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen was left covered in blood after a horror collision involving Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana and team-mate Toby Alderweireld.
Vertonghen was looking to connect with a free-kick as Onana came out to punch the ball clear.
Alderweireld was also attempting to header the ball and the nasty three-way collision saw Vertonghen come off worst.
There was immediate concern for Vertonghen as the players were left in a heap on the floor.
The Belgian defender was then seen with blood pouring from his nose as staff rushed on to treat him.

He was eventually cleaned up after a delay of a few moments and given a round of applause as he walked off the field.
After taking some time to regroup and be patched up, he returned to the field of play having been given the green light by the referee, who stopped play to delegate with the Spurs medical team.

But just seconds later he pulled up unable to continue and had to be carried down the tunnel by staff as he struggled to maintain his balance and appeared to be close to vomitting.
The manner of his withdrawal having been allowed back onto the field by Spurs medical staff is sure to draw criticism given his clear discomfort when he withdrew himself seconds later.
