Jan Vertonghen's surging run, Lucas Moura's brief stoppage and Serge Aurier taking a big chance

The pre-match entertainment

It was a huge evening for Tottenham in the FA Cup and the club tried their best to create a fantastic atmosphere ahead of kick-off.

A DJ had been hired for the pre-match entertainment in a change to the normal routine prior to a Premier League game.

Spurs have a very good pedigree in the famous competition and it was a flashback for many to previous years with some of the club's FA Cup songs played inside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The atmosphere was helped by 9,000 Norwich fans also making the trip to north London and it was them who went home in full voice as they progressed through on penalties.

Lucas pausing for a second

Lucas Moura was once again in the Tottenham team for the FA Cup tie.

The Brazilian has featured in each one of Jose Mourinho's 24 games in charge so far and the lack of numbers in attack at present meant that he wasn't given a breather by his boss.

Receiving the ball on right wing midway inside the first half, the ex-Paris Saint-Germain man did have a brief stoppage when he could have pushed on to attack.

He appeared to use the time to wipe his nose before then getting on with a play again a few seconds later.

Vertonghen's late run

It was almost a carbon copy of the Premier League fixture between the sides back in January as Spurs pushed on for a late winner.

Josip Drmic's goal had levelled things up and both teams were keen to avoid going to extra-time and penalties with some key games coming up at both ends of the table.

Jan Vertonghen was one of those intent on making sure the Lilywhites progressed through in normal time and he went on an incredible run in the final few minutes as he rolled back the years.

Released down the left by Gedson Fernandes, the Belgian international, playing at left-back, powered forward and managed to win a corner off Ben Godfrey after the Canaries had initially retrieved possession.

It was brilliant play from the long-serving defender and the fans inside the stadium made their feelings known as they gave him a huge ovation.

Lamela's rabona

A few minutes later and Erik Lamela brought out a familiar trick as the team looked to add a second goal.

Receiving the ball on the right, the Argentine wheeled out his famous rabona once again as he put the ball back into the box.

Doing the same in the previous meeting between the sides in January as he was inches away from picking out Lucas Moura, his effort this time sadly didn't find a teammate as the Norwich defence cleared their lines.

Initially scoring with a rabona against Asteras Tripolis in the Europa League group stage back in October 2014, we'll no doubt see the 28-year-old use it again at some point down the line.

Aurier takes a chance

Serge Aurier really did take a chance on the ball in the final few minutes of extra-time against Norwich.

In possession at right-back under pressure from Marco Stiepermann, the Ivorian decided to backheel the ball around the German player despite the fact he wasn't that far from his own area.

It was a risky trick to try and pull off so late in the game as he could have quite easily lost the ball and the Canaries capitalised from it.

Thankfully he got it right as he spun around the ex-Borussia Dortmund man before moving forward.
