Jan Vertonghen's hilarious reason why Spurs cannot sign Arsenal target Yannick Carrasco

Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be a busy man this summer.

The Tottenham Hotspur manager will be hoping to spend big this summer, having spent two transfer windows without spending a penny.

And having finished fourth, and just missed out on Champions League glory, losing in the final to Liverpool on Saturday, the Argentinian wants to strengthen his squad to get Tottenham to the next level and challenging with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

Spurs have been linked with a number of players already, even in these early stages of the transfer window, including the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.

But one player that is unlikely to arrive at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer is Yannick Carrasco.

The Belgian is not a name that has been linked with Spurs, in fact, he has previously been tipped to join Arsenal, particularly in January, with rumours resurfacing of a Gunners move this summer.

The winger is currently playing in the Chinese Super League for Dalian Yifang but he says he wants to return to Europe.

Speaking to Nieuwsblad, Carrasco said: "There is now an offer on the table and the negotiations with my agent are progressing well."

There is no suggestion that that club with the offer on the table is Spurs, but one fan certainly hoped it was when speaking to Jan Vertonghen during an Instagram Live session.

Vertonghen, national team-mates with Carrasco, was hosting the Instagram Live and was asked by one fan to tell Carrasco to join Spurs.

Vertonghen repeated the question out loud, before saying: "No he likes Chinese food too much."
