Jan Oblak outlines stance on his future amid Chelsea transfer interest

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has not ruled out a summer move to Chelsea, but has said that he is fully concentrated on the Champions League campaign with Atletico.

Frank Lampard is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer, after a number of disappointing performances from Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Spaniard has been dropped on two occasions throughout the season, with Willy Caballero being preferred for the final games of the campaign.

Reports suggest that Chelsea are now looking to replace the goalkeeper, with Oblak top of the wanted list.

However, his side, Atletico Madrid are determined to keep hold of the player, who has a buyout clause of €120 million.

The Spanish side are in Champions League action today (Thursday), as they take on RB Leipzig in the Quarter-final of the competition.

Speaking ahead of that match, Oblak has outlined his stance on his future.

“This is not the time for that, now it’s Leipzig,” he told AS when asked about his future.

“I’ll look back at the season when the last game is over, and hopefully we’ll have three more [games to play]. Then there will be time to talk.

“But first, Leipzig. I’m really looking forward to it.”

The club’s president Enrique Cerezo also gave a confident prediction on the future of his goalkeeper.

“Worried? No. No way. I am convinced that Jan Oblak will continue to play at Atletico,” he said.
