Jan Oblak has already made his feelings known on Tottenham and Man United transfer possibility

Fabio Paratici is starting to put Hugo Lloris succession plans in place at Tottenham and the main name linked to the future vacancy is world-class shot-stopper Jan Oblak.

However, Man United are looking to put a dent in this plan which is being reported by the Evening Standard, as Erik ten Hag has his eyes on the 29-year-old to become David De Gea's replacement.

Before last summer's transfer window, the man that ranked in third place for the Yashin Award back in 2021, behind Chelsea's Edouard Mendy (second) and Gianluigi Donnarumma (first), was reportedly considering his future at Atletico due to the expiration of his contract in 2024. However, Atletico decided to extend his contract till 2028, meaning his value has retained to a point whereby the CIES Football Observatory reckon £27m would be needed to poach him from Spain.

Step in both Tottenham and Man Utd and as both plan for life without Lloris and De Gea respectively, Oblak, before having an extension in his contract exercised, admitted that he would only leave on Atletico's terms.

He told Marca back in 2021: "I can't see the future, neither myself nor the club nor anyone can. It will depend on a lot of factors, such as if the club needs to sell any players or not."

Oblak then went on to further clarify in that same interview: "I have nothing to say about my future, I have been at Atleti seven years and I have two years left on my contract.

"I have played more than 300 games here and, while I enjoy having won LaLiga Santander, I'm not thinking about anything else.

"I'm here, I'm happy. We'll see what the future brings."

Whilst being a strong shot-stopper, it is well known that Atleti's number 13 isn't the strongest with the ball at his feet just like Chelsea's Edouard Mendy. He certainly sounds like a perfect replacement for Lloris, who at the age of 35 is not getting any younger.
