Jan Oblak asked about his future amid transfer links to Manchester United

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak was coy on his future when asked about the possibility of him moving on from the Spanish club.

Reports have emerged in recent weeks suggesting United are plotting an audacious swoop for Oblak and are prepared to use David de Gea as a makeweight in the deal, attempting to remove the Spaniard's hefty £375,000-per-week earnings from the wage bill.

While it seemed the momentum was firmly behind Dean Henderson as the battle for the number one role at Old Trafford was beginning to reach its conclusion, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer threw this into doubt when preferring De Gea in the final few weeks.

However, if the fresh details of United 's interest in Oblak are true, then it could suggest that neither stopper could be at the club next campaign, which would be a spectacular and unexpected development.

Now, the La Liga champions' goalkeeper has commented on the links to United amid uncertainty over his future.

"I can't see the future, neither myself nor the club nor anyone can," Oblak told Marca. "It will depend on a lot of factors, such as if the club needs to sell any players or not.

"I have nothing to say about my future, I have been at Atleti seven years and I have two years left on my contract. I have played more than 300 games here and, while I enjoy having won La Liga Santander, I'm not thinking about anything else.

"I'm here, I'm happy. We'll see what the future brings."
