Jammu Police arrests fraudster with Rs 1.96 lakh from Pune

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested a fraudster from Pune duping a trader from Sarore of Bishnah in Jammu district alongwith Rs 1.96 lakhs from Pune, police said.

"A written complaint was lodged at P/S Bishnah by one person namely Raghav Narang of Sarore -Bishnah in District Jammu stating that the complainant trades walnut kernels with 'Sarthi traders' Nagpur but some cheat claiming to be the owner of "New Sarthi traders" called the complainant and ordered four consignments of walnut kernels", police said.

"Accordingly the complainant has supplied goods worth Rs.20,42,494/- to the fraudster party but later he found himself cheated", they said.

On this case FIR No 02/2022 U/S 420 IPC was registered at Police station Bishnah and investigation started.

Police said, "After this special police teams of PS Bishnah led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna assisted by SHO PS Bishnah Inspr Vikram Sharma and PSI Mashqoor Ahmed with the help of technical assistance finally arrested the accused person namely Hitesh Nanak Ram of Nagpur Maharashtra from Pune."

On questioning the accused confessed his involvement in the above case and on his disclosure Rs.1.96 Lakhs were recovered from his possession. Police added that further investigation of the case is going on.
