JAMMU: At least three Amarnath pilgrims including a minor were hospitalised after the vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Banihal area in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district on Friday morning, officials said.
Police sources said, "A tempo vehicle (HR 55-AG 0831) carrying the pilgrims turned turtle on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near Sherbabi area of Banihal at around 6am, resulting in injuries to four passengers.
According to sources, the injured were taken to SDH Banihal, where three of them were hospitalised and their condition was said to be stable while the fourth one was discharged from the hospital.
The hospitalised persons were identified as Kundan Kumar (59) from Uttar Pradesh, Vivek (10) and Anita Gupta (49) from Chhattisgarh, the officials said, adding, the fourth one was identified as Gudiya also from Chhattisgarh.
Police said that the injured pilgrims were scheduled to visit the cave shrine for darshan on July 3.
