Jammie Dodgers muffins are being sold at Asda for £1.50 - and they look delicious

Fans of Jammie Dodgers can now get their hands on an exciting new treat inspired by the classic Burton's biscuit.

Ideal for sweet-toothed shoppers wanting to switch up their teatime breaks, Asda is selling Jammie Dodgers muffins in supermarkets across the UK

The classic Jammie Dodger biscuit is famous for its heart-shaped jam in the middle and was first produced more than 50 years ago.

But now, biscuit maker Burton’s has partnered with confectionary manufacturer Speedibake to whip up a twist on the teatime favourite.

The new Jammie Dodgers muffins are each made with a moist vanilla sponge, which is filled with raspberry jam and then topped with icing and an edible heart plaque decoration.

They come in packs of two and are sold for a bargain price of £1.50, or you can purchase them individually for 75p. As the treats launched exclusively in-store at Asda this month, you won't be able to find them at other shops or online either.

But that's not the only delicious treat in the new muffins range. There's also a Maryland Cookies muffin, which sees a vanilla sponge studded with dark chocolate chips and packed with a Belgian dark chocolate sauce.

The new Maryland Cookies treats are also available in packs of two for £1.50 - or 75p a muffin.

Instagram food blogger KevsSnackReviews shared a post about the new treats at Asda.

Speaking about the Jammie Dodgers muffin, he said: "Nice and moist with a good raspberry flavour that replicated Jammie Dodger filling.

"Would be nice to have some cookie bits added too - but this is still a good replication of Jammie Dodgers for a muffin."

It seems shoppers are impressed with them, with one person commenting: "These look insane!! Perfect with a cuppa."

Another wrote: "These look amazing cant wait to try them."

While a third tagged another user and said: "we need to try these! x."

Rob Turpin, commercial director at Speedibake said: "We’ve really taken our time to make sure that the muffins capture the great flavour and taste of these iconic biscuits and I can’t wait to see them on shelf this September."
