Bradford City want to sign Jamie Walker on loan from Hearts.
The Tynecastle favourite is set to decide his future this month amid a frustrating campaign spent largely on the sidelines.
Out of contract in May, Walker has managed just four Premiership appearances for Robbie Neilson 's side this term - but did climb off the bench to hit a crucial winner against Dundee in December.
Neilson has said the winger has earned the right to decide his own future.
And Record Sport understands Bradford are trying to thrash out a loan deal for the 28-year-old.
The Bantams, managed by Derek Adams, sit twelfth in England's League Two.
Reports have claimed Livingston and St Johnstone are also interested in Walker, who has made over 200 appearances across two spells with Hearts.
Former Gorgie star and Record Sport columnist Ryan Stevenson is adamant the club should not be letting him go.
He wrote last month: "After Jamie Walker’s matchwinning intervention in Tayside I certainly hope he remains at home in Gorgie for a long time yet.
"The winger’s future is up in the air as he enters the final few months of his contract and some fans feel it’s time to cut the born-and-bred Jambo adrift.
"But his value to Hearts was never clearer than when he emerged out the fog like some sort of superhero to lash home the only goal of the game against Dundee.
"Don’t underestimate how important that late goal was after the two crushingly disappointing defeats to Celtic and Rangers in recent weeks.
"That is exactly what Jamie is - a matchwinner. And why wouldn’t you want as many of those in your squad as possible?"
