Jamie Vardy's wife gives perfect response to fan's request to stop Liverpool winning the Premier League

Liverpool have another big supporter in their bid for the Premier League title - Rebekah Vardy.

Jamie Vardy's wife revealed that she's cheering on the Reds after a fan asked her to "injure" her husband ahead of Man City's clash with Leicester City on Monday.

Liverpool desperately need either Leicester or Brighton to get a result against City - as well as beating Wolves on the final day themselves - to secure a first Premier League title.

The Reds left it late against Newcastle as Divock Origi headed a winner to put Liverpool back at the top of the table.

Attention now turns to Man City's meeting with Brendan Rodgers' side on Monday.

Ahead of the game, one fan tweeted Mrs Vardy: "oi make sure you injure Vardy tonight so he doesn't play vs Man City. No one wants Liverpool to win the Premier League."

Her response was emphatic.

"I do. #ComeonLiverpool"

Vardy has an excellent record against the top six sides and has scored 18 goals already this season.

The Englishman has scored eight goals against Arsenal, seven against Liverpool and five against each Manchester club, as well as five against Spurs and four versus Chelsea.
