Jamie Vardy begs wife Rebekah to 'back off' in Coleen Rooney row as pals mock him

Jamie Vardy has told wife Rebekah to drop her feud with Coleen Rooney – after soccer pals took the mickey out of him.

A source claimed the Leicester City striker begged his missus to “just let it be” to avoid making the high-profile WAG row any worse.

The plea came as Jamie, 32, and pregnant Becky returned to the UK from holiday to face the storm over leaked Instagram stories.

Wayne Rooney’s wife this week accused Becky’s account of supplying the press with private information that only it had access to.

Becky, 37, was said to be so incensed she was ready to face Coleen – who has been dubbed Wagatha Christie – in court and prove her innocence.

But as the Vardys flew into Heathrow after a visit to Dubai, it emerged Jamie had made an appeal aimed at defusing the spat which has grabbed the headlines for days.

A source claimed: “Jamie just wants this story to go away. A lot of his football mates have been ribbing him about it.

“He has told Becky to drop it and just leave it be.”

Meanwhile Coleen, 33, looked defiant and smiled as she partied in Manchester on Friday night.

She completely ignored the drama as she joined in a surprise bash for former Manchester United defender Wes Brown’s 40th birthday – not leaving until 4am.

Super-sleuth Coleen acquired the “Wagatha” tag after she claimed to have identified the Instagram account that was passing on info from her own posts.

The leaks, said to have been going on for two years, included news about a car crash.

Finally Coleen blocked all of her followers but one, allowing just a single account to see her feed.

And she triumphantly revealed her sting with a dramatic message that concluded: “It’s... Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

The source added: “Coleen knew it was someone close to her but she just needed to find out exactly who it was.”

Becky hit back by vehemently insisting she was not behind the leaks, saying: “I’m disgusted that I’m even having to deny this.”

Jamie and Wayne, 33, were said to be “very close friends” on and off the pitch during their time as England team-mates.
