Jamie Shackleton appears to be becoming a bit of a talisman for Leeds United.
He may not be in the Whites' starting 11, but the stats show that Shackleton coming off the bench is one way of securing a victory.
Opta's Jonny Cooper has outlined the midfielder's impressive record at Leeds, pointing out that the Whites win 83 per cent of matches he appears off the bench in.
The Whites have won an impressive 30 out of the 36 matches that the 21-year-old has appeared as a substitute in.
In fact, Leeds have lost just four matches that Shackleton has appeared in off the subs' bench.
On six occasions, Shackleton has come off the bench with the scores level and helped turn that into a victory for the Whites.
There has also been one occasion that he has helped Leeds rescue a point from a losing position.
Admittedly, that often means Shackleton is brought on with the Whites already in a winning position - but that is no bad thing in itself.
Instead, it shows Marcelo Bielsa has plenty of trust in the 21-year-old's ability to follow instructions and help see his teammates see out the win.
Indeed, with Leeds' penchant for late goals under Bielsa, it is noticeable how often Shackleton is sent on immediately after a late winner.
Again, this shows the importance of Shackleton's role in seeing out results.
On Friday, Shackleton played a different role, however, coming on after just 21 minutes to help Leeds keep a clean sheet in their 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.
Speaking to Leeds' website, Shackleton outlined the role he had been asked to do by Marcelo Bielsa in the victory - a case of recycling possession and keep the Whites ticking over.
“It was good to get my first big chunk of Premier League minutes, a great place to do that and an even better place to come and take three points,” said Shackleton.
“There was a lot of space for me and Rodrigo to get on the ball in-between the lines and I was asked to that as much as possible, keeping the ball ticking over and turning the ball over, winning it back off the two midfielders we were marking.
“We did well in the first half and created a few chances, but in the second half Pat put the chances that we created away.
“It was three top finishes from Pat and he’s on top form at the minute.
“We did brilliantly in the second half and it was even better seeing the game out in the way we did.
“We’ve shown the sort of football we can play in the games previous to this and again we played some really nice stuff which resulted in three brilliant goals to win the game.
“We’re continuing to take things one game at a time, we knew the sort of form that Villa were in, but we come into every game to compete, in every game we participate in, we’re aiming to get three points and it’s pleasing to have done that.”
It will be interesting to see whether this is an indicator that versatile youngster will be given more first-team minutes going forward - and whether his impressive record can continue.
