Jamie Roberts left stunned by Valentine's Day surprise in front of his entire team

Jamie Roberts was treated to a Valentine's Day gift in front of his new Super Rugby teammates as the Stormers jetted off for an away game.

The side, unbeaten so far this season, were gathered at Cape Town International Airport on Friday morning, preparing to head off to Johannesburg to face the Lions, when former Wales and Bath centre Roberts got a special delivery.

Recently engaged, Roberts received a delivery of roses via DHL and a serenade, including violinists, with a song that appeared to be from his other half.

Roberts popped the question to Australian-born Nicole Ramson an hour before leaving for Cape Town, and the pair have since been getting used to life in South Africa, taking in the stunning scenery on the coast and climbing Lions Head Mountain.

Much to the delight of his teammates and jetsetters at the airport, Roberts was treated to the very public February 14 surprise.

The song lyrics included: "Jamie, my baby, we're finally tying the knot, took long enough but I must say, I really got a shock, on the way to Heathrow, 'marry me' you said, they say romance is suffering but you've made sure that it's not dead..."

High-flying businesswoman Ramson, who was founder and director of London boutique design studio Chelsea Creative, confirmed the happy news on Instagram.

"Best surprise (1 hour) prior to moving to Cape Town," she wrote.
