Jamie Roberts gets more than he bargained for when ordering sushi in Japan

As the saying goes, when in Rome.

But former Wales international Jamie Roberts got more than he bargained for when ordering sushi arrived ahead of the Rugby World Cup opening ceremony in Japan.

The ex-Lions centre shared a video of his fresh sashimi to his fans on Twitter from the host nation's capital.

But what you might not have expected was to see the fish so fresh that its head continues to twitch even when on the plate!

The clip, shared with the caption 'Sashimi maybe a little too fresh here in Tokyo', has captured the horror, and imagination, of Welsh fans on Friday morning.

One replied: "Its [sic] customary to let it nibble your ear a little".

And another added: "Blimey, love a bit of sashimi but don't fancy a fish head giving me a kiss as it goes down!!".

The World Cup opening ceremony will kick off at 10.30am this morning from Kyoto Stadium.

The celebration of traditional and modern Japanese culture will be followed by the host's opening game against Russia.
