Spurs take on Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
And because of the way the season has panned out for them so far, a number of Tottenham players have a point to prove every time they step out onto the pitch.
Welcoming the Premier League champions to N17 will be one of Spurs' toughest assignments of the season, but the carrot at the end of the stick for Jose Mourinho's men is that three points can take them to within four points of the Champions League places.
Chelsea drew with Leicester on Saturday, while Manchester United's goalless draw with Wolves means Spurs can move into fifth place with victory.
One player who has flourished with the change of manager at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ash been Dele Alli, who, in fairness, was coming back into some semblance of the form that rocketed him into the limelight before Mauricio Pochettino was sacked.
Mourinho is a big fan of the 23-year-old and Alli is back to his best under the Portuguese boss.
Sky Sport pundit Jamie Redknapp believes the young midfielder is "as good as anyone in the Premier League".
He said: "He had a horrendous injury, tore his hamstring badly, missed four or five months of the season so it's taken time.
"You can see his fitness levels, he's looking sharper and the disappointing thing for him will be Harry Kane being injured, they used to link up so well a few years ago.
"When he runs from deep he's as good as any other midfield player because he knows where the goal is."
