There has been plenty of buzz about 15-year-old midfield talent Archie Gray in recent weeks and he followed up a start in midfield in Premier League Two on Friday by travelling with the Leeds United squad to the away game with Tottenham Hotspur.
Gray was not included in the match day squad but his presence in the stadium attracted a lot of attention from fans and media alike.
On Sky Sports, Jamie Redknapp namechecked the midfielder as he discussed Leeds' injury situation and the opportunities which it has provided for young players to be in and around the first-team squad.
"They’ve got a lot of injuries. Archie Gray who is 15-years-of-age has travelled with the squad today. He’s going to be a tremendous young player.
"They have so much talent but when you have injuries it gives you opportunities. We all got into our first-teams at our respective clubs through injuries one way or another. Good for him, I hope he takes his chance."
Although Gray is only 15, he has made several appearances for the Whites' Under 23 side, playing in the Papa John's Trophy and in the Premier League Cup. He started the Premier League Two loss against Chelsea on Friday, matching up against 26-year-old Lewis Baker in the Blues' midfield.
One player who did have an opportunity was Joe Gelhardt. Rodrigo and Raphinha were both surprise absentees - with the Brazilian ill and Rodrigo carrying a slight foot injury. This meant that the 19-year-old was given an opportunity to start a Premier League game for the first time.
