Jamie Redknapp has insisted that Andreas Christiansen doesn't 'smell danger' like former Chelsea captain John Terry.
The Sky Sports pundit highlighted the Blues defender at fault for Aston Villa's opening goal on Sunday.
Kourtney Hause put the hosts ahead despite a hole half of Chelsea dominance after steering the ball home after an initial save from Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Whilst Christiansen didn't play a direct role in the goal, Redknapp questioned his positioning in the area, with the centre-back stood still when the ball broke and inches away from getting in a block, which he would have made had he been more alert.
"I don't think he does well, Christiansen, he's walking," Redknapp told Sky Sports at half-time.
"He's napping. If he's even jogging back, or sprinting back, I think he clears that ball (after Arrizabalaga's save).
"As a centre-back, look at his position there. Get closer! Kourtney Hause manages to scuff it into the net but as a centre-back, you've got to sprint back. You have to sense it, he doesn't sense the danger.
"You can see he's organising, I quite like his body position, it's good, but as that ball goes past him, second ball. Can you get that block, can you defend. John Terry was the best at it! He'd be sliding in. He doesn't sense the danger."
