Jamie Redknapp blasts Daniel Levy and names the one thing Tottenham aren't doing at the moment

Former Tottenham captain Jamie Redknapp believes his old side don’t 'act like a big club' and has hit out at chairman Daniel Levy for holding them back.

The club has received plenty of criticism from those within the game for furloughing non-playing staff and using a government scheme to pay 80 percent of their wages during these uncertain times.

The move came even though Spurs announced profits of £68.6million just last month, as well as paying a believed £83million in transfer fees to various clubs for players last summer.

And now Redknapp has also hit out at his old club for placing non-playing staff on furlough leave due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Rob Guest's full Tottenham Q&A

“I just feel at times they don't act like a big club,” he told Sky Sports News.

“Tottenham, I know full well, have good finances and plenty behind them, but it didn't sit well with me.

“I think Daniel is a really good businessman but at negotiations, he is very difficult at times.

“And that's why you see a lot of players wanting to leave.”

Before Redknapp added: “If they want to push on, Levy hasn't pressed the button and spent the money to push them to a new level.”
