Jamie Redknapp agrees with Gary Neville about Tottenham's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after Arsenal win

Sky Sports pundits Jamie Redknapp and Gary Neville lavished Tottenham Hotspur midfield enforcer Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with praise for his performance during Spurs' north London derby triumph over Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The Denmark international starred in the middle of the park as first half goals from Son Heung-min and Harry Kane sealed an impressive win for Jose Mourinho's side, taking them back to the top of the Premier League in the process.

While it was both Son and Kane that grabbed the headlines for their match-winning heroics, Hojbjerg played an integral role in breaking up play in the centre of midfield, keeping the engine room ticking alongside Moussa Sissoko.

And for Redknapp, Hojbjerg's start to life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has come as a big surprise, as the former Liverpool and Spurs midfielder felt he was going to struggle to adapt to life in north London after his debut against Everton back in September.

“He’s doing some job for the team," Redknapp told Sky Sports. "I was at his first game when he played against Everton and I thought he might be a bit out of his depth here.

"He’s almost like a player and a coach for Jose, you can see the relationship the two of them have.

"He does the dirty work, wins the ball back, second balls all the time. He looks very comfortable in this Tottenham shirt.”

Neville's opinion on Hojbjerg's start to life at Spurs is the exact same as Redknapp's, with the former Manchester United and England star having been very impressed by his performances in recent weeks.

Neville added: "Against Everton, I was here, and I thought he didn’t look right. But he’s found the balance.

"Him and Sissoko in midfield - both of them have been outstanding in the last two or three weeks.”

Since joining Spurs from Southampton in the summer, Hojbjerg has racked up 18 appearances in all competitions, proving himself as a key figure within Mourinho's plans.
