A pundit has questioned whether Patrick Bamford is the man to fire Leeds United to Premier League promotion.
Bamford, 26, currently sits equal seventh in the Championship top scorers chart with 12 league goals to his name.
The Whites failed to find the net in their 1-0 home defeat to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Dissecting the match on TalkSport, Jamie O’Hara’ has questioned Bamford’s cutting edge as Marcelo Bielsa’s men battle to secure promotion to the Premier League.
“For me, Bamford just doesn’t give you enough, he misses a few chances. He misses so many big chances,” Former Tottenham player O’Hara claimed.
“He’s a very good player at that level but you need someone who is going to make a difference. Fulham have got Mitrovic and West Brom have got Austin. They have players who make a difference in the big moments.
“Is Bamford going to be the player who gets Leeds promoted? I don’t know.”
The Whites currently sit second in the Championship table one point behind leaders West Brom.
While, they sit three points ahead of Fulham who are in third.
O’Hara, 33, was shocked new loan signing Jean-Kévin Augustin didn’t feature against Wigan.
He said: “What seems to happen with Leeds at this time of the year? They seem to just fall away. I think there’s a lot of Leeds fans who weren’t happy the new signing Augustine wasn’t in the squad.”
The Whites have a massive crunch match away to fellow promotion chasers Nottingham Forest on Saturday, February 8.
