Jamie O'Hara salutes 'ginormous' Rangers as former sniper admits underestimating Steven Gerrard

Former Rangers detractor Jamie O'Hara admits he's now a fan after watching their romp to title glory on Sunday.

The former Tottenham caused outrage north of the border when he claimed Championship Bournemouth was a "bigger job" for Steven Gerrard than being manager of the Ibrox side.

O'Hara was unrepentant and later doubled down by stating the Ibrox side would be cannon fodder in the English Premier Leaue.

But the earliest title win in Scottish football history has forced the pundit into a rethink and he admits he's had an epiphany in regards to Rangers and their standing in British football.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "I got it completely wrong.

"When you are down here, down south, you don't realise how big Rangers are until something like that happens.

"And when you see that, the atmosphere, the fans, I always give them a bit of stick because it's Ally but they are a ginormous football club."

O'Hara was then asked if he was saying sorry to Rangers and while he didn't go that far he did admit he didn't account for Gerrard's ability in the digout.

Rangers can secure an unbeaten season with six games remaining and are in the last 16 of the Europa League and face Slavia Prague on Thursday.

He added: "It's not so much of an apology.

"I think I underestimated Steven Gerrard, for sure.

"In terms of what Rangers have achieved, it is unbelievable. I think when you are down south you are a bit naive to it, aren't you?"
