Jamie O'Hara left red-faced after six Arsenal players he called "B team" prove him wrong

Ex- Spurs star and current radio personality Jamie O'Hara has been left humbled after his fierce criticism of the players Arsenal bought in this summer has come back to haunt him in the wake of the recent north London derby.

O'Hara made his feelings very clear on the Gunners' transfer dealings, as Mikel Arteta oversaw Arsenal's biggest ever transfer outlay - over £135m on six players.

Half a dozen players that O'Hara dubbed 'B team' players to talkSPORT, when he said: " [Martin] Odegaard, [Aaron] Ramsdale, Ben White, [Albert Sambi] Lokonga and [Nuno] Tavares. They’ve spent £135 million on a B team."

The former Portsmouth midfielder was speaking ahead of the deadline day arrival of Takehiro Tomiyasu, who would go on to enjoy a near-faultless display against Spurs in the recent clash between the two sides.

Arteta's Arsenal run riot against Spurs, beating their loathed rivals 3-1 - notching all three goals in the opening 35 minutes of the game as Nuno Espirito Santo's side left themselves with a mountain too big to climb in the second-half.

The irony of O'Hara's comments is that the most impressive Arsenal performers on the day happened to be a number of the new signings.

White kept Harry Kane at bay for much of the contest, while Son struggled to get the better of Tomiyasu despite scoring a consolation late on.

Odegaard was a constant thorn in the side of Totteham's midfield, with both Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele failing to nullify the threat posed by the Norwegian.

The finest moment for Arsenal's new recruits fell to goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who pulled off a sublime save to tip Lucas Moura's deflected effort on to the crossbar and prevent an even nervier finish at the Emirates.

Clearly not in the mood to accept defeat gracefully, O'Hara returned to his post after the contest to ridicule Arsenal's celebrations in the aftermath of dominating their rivals.

"Can we get something straight right now," O’Hara bemoaned after Spurs' third successive league defeat. "You (Arsenal) have got nine points. You're going on like you've won the league all of a sudden.

"You beat a bang average Spurs team with a bang average manager and you're going on like you've won the title. It's embarrassing!

Were Arsenal right to spend so heavily on the players they did? HAVE YOUR SAY HERE!

"You've had the biggest fall from grace of any football club in the Premier League. You used to compete with Manchester United every week for the title.

"Now you're beating a rubbish Spurs team and giving it like you've won Europe. Get a grip of yourselves Arsenal fans, it's ridiculous!

"You used to have Emmanuel Petit, Patrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry. You used to batter teams at the top of the table. You've had the biggest fall from grace in England ever."
