Jamie Murray confident that Andy Murray and Johanna Konta will line up for Battle of the Brits

Jamie Murray is confident both brother Andy Murray and British No1 Johanna Konta will line up in his latest Battle of the Brits at the end of the month.

Following the success of the initial format with the best male singles and doubles players, Murray is returning with a team version at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton from July 27 to August 2.

And Murray said: “I cannot tell you with a gun to my head that they will be there but they both said they like the idea and intend to play as long as the fitness is there.

“I need our top players intending to play in order to put these events on. Otherwise it doesn’t work. It will be their last opportunity to complete before the Tour stars whenever that will start up.”

The plan is for two teams of 12 selected by non-playing captains will play across singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
