Jamie Murphy details his Hibs role when injured as he hails Jack Ross

Hibs star Jamie Murphy has revealed he used to offer advice to Jack Ross from the stands when he is out injured.

The winger spent chunks of last season missing with niggling injuries that frustrated his campaign, but he was able to offer his experience in a different way.

And he was delighted to help out as he praised Ross for 'respecting' him and lavished praise on him for his efforts in taking the club to third place.

Murphy joined Hibs on loan from Rangers before joining in a permanent deal this summer and he's looking forward to the new campaign where he hopes to play more than the 26 times he did this campaign.

But he's willing to help Ross out as he revealed why he would wear a headset in the Easter Road stands during games if he wasn't involved.

He told Football Daft: “Whenever I’ve been injured, which has been a little bit this year, the manager respects my opinion so sometimes I’d go on the mic and give advice.

“He (Ross) is really good. He knows what he’s doing and has us playing good football and winning games.

“Finishing third last year was a big thing, Hibs hadn’t done it in a long time.

“To get us there after half a season before that is a great job.”
