St Mirren midfielder Jamie McGrath showed no signs of being unsettled by transfer speculation after putting in a superb performance for Ireland against Portugal.
The 24-year-old has been the subject of interest from several clubs over the last transfer window, with Hibs almost dramatically sealing a deal for the playmaker on transfer deadline day.
Thankfully for the Buddies the move fell through, with McGrath now staying in Paisley until at least January.
Last night he was handed his first start for Ireland in a crucial World Cup qualifier against Portugal.
Far from being overawed by the occasion, the former Dundalk midfielder shone, bagging the assist for Ireland's opening goal with a pinpoint cross for John Egan to head home.
While he and his teammates unfortunately couldn't hold on to all three points at the Estádio Algarve near Faro, with Cristiano Ronaldo bagging a late brace to seal all three points, Ireland fans were purring about McGrath's performance on social media.
Jamie Ralph posted: "McGrath has been immense", while Derrick Kenny posted: "Great shift from Jamie McGrath tonight."
Ian Tolan posted: "Picking up great positions and just mopping up any little loose balls. Very composed performance."
And @Bigirishcelt added: "Jamie McGrath won't be at St Mirren much longer. What a display for your first senior start."
McGrath will now be looking to add to his two caps when Ireland take on Azerbaijan at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, with the Meath man having another chance to shine on home soil against Serbia on Tuesday.
