Jamie McCart transfer latest as Sheffield Wednesday boss gushes over 'tremendous' Hibs target

Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore admits he shouldn't speak about players from other clubs - but hailed Jamie McCart as 'tremendous'.

The St Johnstone centre back is attracting plenty of interest from down south while Hibs had an opener offer of around £200k rejected for him.

Wednesday are one of the clubs who have been credited with an interest and Moore is clearly a big fan and admits he's not surprised there's a lot of interest.

The 24-year-old was a key part of the Saints team that beat Hibs in the Scottish Cup Final to make it a cup double for Callum Davidson's men.

And Jack Ross was keen to bring him to Easter Road but his price and wages are likely to be pushed up with the interest from down south.

And Moore said: “It’s difficult for me to talk about a player who’s at another club.

“But what I will say is that, yes, I do know of him and he is a tremendous player. A good, good player.

“It’s not surprised me there’s been a lot of clubs touted for him and talking about him.

“I won’t talk about the intricacies of the man himself because he’s not our player.

“But what I will say is that he’s a solid player and good with the ball at his feet.”
