Jamie Lomas was forced to quit Real Full Monty after testing positive for coronavirus

Jamie Lomas was forced to pull out of ITV's The Real Full Monty on Ice, after a positive coronavirus test result.

The Hollyoaks actor, who plays Warren Fox on the Channel 4 soap, signed up to the ITV series to help raise awareness of different cancers.

Jamie explained on the show he was doing it for his dad, who is battling prostate cancer.

During the start of both Monday and Tuesday's episodes, viewers noticed Jamie was missing from the line-up on the ice.

He went on to feature in both episodes, training for the big performance ahead of the strip in front of an audience.

But when it came to the actual day of performing, viewers realised Jamie was no longer taking part.

After questions over whether he had quit the series, it was soon explained on Tuesday what had happened.

Ashley Banjo confirmed Jamie was forced to pull out of the show because he had tested positive for Covid-19.

Jamie soon spoke to the team himself, and confirmed he was doing fine and had no symptoms.

He also watched the others take part virtually, to show his support to his co-stars including Coleen Nolan, Jake Quickenden and Chris Hughes.

Initially confirming the news, Ashley told the team: "We are currently a man down due to a positive test. Jamie is positive. Jamie is out now."

They were devastated for the actor, with him having improved with his ice skating skills and he was ready to take on the challenge.

Jamie had tested positive for the virus after taking a test as part of the show the night before, as had the other stars.

Jamie then told the boys and girls: "The sad thing is I am absolutely fine, I've got no symptoms whatsoever, it's very frustrating.

"I just really wanted to be there with you guys and go through it with you, and I am so, so sorry."
