Jamie-Lee Wilson: PSNI statement as death 'not being treated as suspicious'

Police are not treating the death of a West Belfast woman as suspicious, a statement has confirmed.

Officers said last night that they are "no longer searching for missing person, Jamie-Lee Wilson" who was last seen on Tuesday August 10.

The announcement came after the 25-year-old's car was discovered in Dundrod, Co Antrim.

Jamie-Lee was last seen in the Turf Lodge area at around midday last week and was heading towards the Springfield Road.

In a statement on Wednesday, police confirmed a woman's body was found in Dundrod yesterday.

They added: "Police can confirm that the body of a woman was found in the Dundrod area yesterday evening, Tuesday 17 August.

"A post mortem will be carried out in due course to determine the cause of death but it is not being treated as suspicious at this time. There are no further details."

The Knockcairn Road in Dundrod was closed last night due to an "ongoing incident" and motorists were asked to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.

Police confirmed that the road has since reopened to the public.
