Jamie Laing says he will propose to Sophie Habboo on Strictly if he makes final

Reality TV star Jamie Laing has said he will propose to his girlfriend live on Strictly Come Dancing if he makes the final.

The Made in Chelsea cast member, 31, finally gets to compete in the BBC One dancing competition after an injury forced him to sit out of last year's series.

In 2019, Jamie was replaced by former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher who went on to win the Glitterball Trophy with Jamie's previous dance partner Oti Mabuse.

Now Jamie is paired up with professional dancer Karen Hauer and it seems there is another reason he is keen on making the final: proposing to partner Sophie 'Habbs' Habboo.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Jamie revealed: "You know what? Maybe I should do that. When I lift the trophy I might propose to her at the same time."

However, Jamie noted that perhaps Sophie would not be so keen herself.

"Honestly, she would be furious if I did it on the Strictly dance floor, on the TV. It would be her worst nightmare.

"So between us, I will propose to her when I win Strictly."

Quashing chances of the 'Strictly curse' striking, Jamie says he is keen to start a family with Sophie.

Jamie added: "The goal in life is to have a family. The meaning of life is to love, isn't it? And of course I want children with Habbs.

"And if she wants to do it, I'm game! But we'll see what happens."

The promise of proposing to Habbs comes after Jamie confirmed his exit from Made in Chelsea after a decade on the E4 show.

Speaking to Sunday Times Style, Jamie reflected: "Well, I was shown in a bad light, I was shown in a good light. I went on the most amazing holidays - I got paid to hang out with my friends.

"And I was on TV for 10 years I'd never say: 'Hey, that's me done', but yes I am definitely taking a step back."

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One at 7.10pm on Saturday, while Made in Chelsea airs on E4 at 9pm on Mondays.
