Strictly line-up: Jamie Laing and Maisie Smith confirmed for 2020 series

Jamie Laing and Maisie Smith have been confirmed as the eighth and ninth contestants for Strictly Come Dancing.

This comes just over an hour after Lorraine Kelly appeared to let slip that Maisie was confirmed for the BBC dancing show.

Ahead of the reveal, This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield teased a couple of clues.

The first showed the Kings Road in Chelsea and also, more specifically, the Bluebird cafe.

Holly teased: "Ooh, maybe it's a footballer or Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard?"

However, the Bluebird Cafe is often where Made in Chelsea is filmed.

The second clue for the other celebrity involved the East End and the O2.

"Maybe it's a popstar who's performed at the O2," Phil suggested.

Maisie is known for her appearance as Tiffany in EastEnders - set in the East End.

Speaking about starring on Strictly, Maisie said: "Get me in those sequins, I can’t wait to dive into the Strictly fancy dress box this winter! This is a dream come true."

Jamie had been due to appear in Strictly last year but was forced to pull out after suffering a knee injury.

He was replaced by former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, who ended up winning the show.

It was previously suggested that Jamie could return to Strictly this year after being left devastated that he had to quit.

Opening up about returning to the BBC show, he said: "Here we go again, hopefully this time I can last long enough so my mum can see me dance.

"The reason I’m doing it, is to make my mum proud but all I did last year was make her even more disappointed. Let’s change that this year, can’t wait!!"

They join Bill Bailey, Caroline Quentin, Max George, Jason Bell, Nicola Adams Clara Amfo and Ranvir Singh in the confirmed line-up for 2020.
